Free For You
Who doesn’t like free stuff?!
For a number of years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to write and share 3 part devotionals at the Pregnancy Care Canada national conference. I have had requests for copies from conference attendees, and I thought, “Why not just share them with everyone?” I trust these will be a blessing and encouragement to you. You can find these devotionals on this page.
On this page you will also find the process and questions I use at the end of each year to honour the year and find a word for the new year. I usually go through this process in mid-December, but if you happen upon it at any other time of the year, you might still enjoy going through the questions.
2 Peter 1:3-7 He has given you everything you need
Do you have everything you need? Most of us would say “no” because we feel like we have many unmet needs. But 2 Peter 1:3-7 promises us that we do have everything we need. So what do we do with that conflict? In this 3-part devotional, you will discover new ways to look at the needs you have, and how God really does give us everything we need for a godly life with Him.
Honouring the Year & Finding a Word for the Year
There is immense value in taking time to reflect on the year that has finished and ready yourself for the year to come.
Finding a word for the new year is different than setting a goal, it is more of a reminder of what you want to focus on and a guiding word for the year.
This PDF has reflective questions for Honouring the Past Year, guiding questions for Embracing the New Year, and steps for Finding a Word for the Year.
Psalm 23: Abiding with the Shepherd
Psalm 23 is probably one of the most familiar and quoted sections of the Bible. It may contain some cherished verses or you may not think you can get anything new from it. No matter where you are coming from, I believe that God will reveal a fresh and new meaning for you from Psalm 23. Because He is our Good Shepherd, and He loves to do that!
Song of Solomon: His banqueting table, His banner, His Love
Song of Solomon 2:4 is a very familiar verse for many. We will dig deeper into this verse in this three-part devotional. We will look at the banqueting table we're invited to, what banners were in Biblical times, and lastly, how we can live out His love in this broken world.
Esther: For such a time as this
It’s a familiar and well-used phrase, for such a time as this. How do we prepare for such a time as this, the time we are living in? And can God really use me, when I am so often feeling challenged or overwhelmed, by such a time as this?
A discussion of “wretches” and broken jars and a Jewish queen provides some insight and gives us the answers.
